Big East Softball Rookie of the Year

  • Kellie Fox Junior SS at Arizona was selected First Team All PAC 12 and Defensive Player of the year hitting 401 (9th in Pac-12) , with 12 doubles (9th), 14 hrs (5th), 59 RBIs (2nd), 771 Slg% (5th), 40 runs scored (7th), 505 ob% (7th), and 121 total bases (2nd)!
  • Alix Johnson Senior outfielder at Arizona State was selected Honorable Mention All PAC 12 and will end her college career hitting over 300 garnering a National Championship and First Team All-American Honors as a sophomore!
  • Dylan Christensen freshman at DePaul was selected as Rookie of the Year in the Big East conference!
  • Nina Villanueva Junior at University of Texas Arlington was First Team All-League for second consecutive year!
  • Sammi Gallardo Senior at the University of Buffalo was First Team All-League!
  • Kacey Everett Freshman at the University of Texas Arlington was Second Team All-League!
  • Katie McEachern Sophomore at Dartmouth help lead the team to Ivy League championship this season, Katie was Ivy League Rookie of the Year as a freshman and First Team All-League as a sophomore hitting 344 and lead the team with HRs 8, Triples 2, Doubles 15, Hits 54, Total Bases 97, slg% 618, and RBIs 30!
  • Naomi Tellez Sophomore for New Mexico was selected Second Team All-League hitting 377 and lead the team in doubles 11, Hits 58, and RBIs 42!
  • Britnea Barilli Sophomore at the University of Texas Arlington has the second highest batting average on the team hitting 275 with 8 doubles, 1 triple, and 3 HRs!
  • Kylie Steagall Freshman at Christian Brothers University with a 287 batting average leading the team in HR 7, RBIs 28, and slg% 535!
  • Nikki Barba Junior at Quinnipiac was second on the team with a 336 batting average!
  • Taylor Hallahan Junior at Vanguard end with a 342 batting average!
  • Alex Miller Senior at Cal State San Marcos hit 382 with a team leading 43 RBIs and 11 doubles!
  • Kaitlin McGinley Senior at Cal State San Marcos Hit 381 with a 416 OB%!
  • Stephanie Higgins Junior at Western New Mexico was second on the team in batting average 339, doubles 15, hits 64 , and runs scored 35!
  • Jackie Buechler Freshman at Amherst College lead the team with 12 wins and a 2.01 ERA!
  • Angie Randazzo Junior at the University of Missouri hit 342 with 9 doubles and 6 Hrs!
  • Hanna Flippen Freshman at the University of Utah was selected First Team All PAC 12
Congratulations to the Fox 16u team for finishing tied for 3rd in the Premier Girls Fast pitch tournament this last weekend. The team had an impressive run losing in the what-if semi-final game in an international tie breaker to the Firecrackers, the eventual champions. This loss to the Firecrackers was the first loss of the year for this team, having an impressive record of 3 wins, 1 loss, and 1 tie against the Firecrackers who will undoubtedly be ranked number one in the final season polls.
Congratulations to Mike Fox and Don Portugal who qualified TWO teams to 2011 Nationals. The Fox/Portugal 18U-Gold team qualified for 2011 ASA Gold Nationals by going undefeated in Lancaster. They were the only San Diego team to qualify in the tournament, and will enjoy staying home for Gold Nationals which will be held locally in Poway and Santee.

During the same weekend, Mike Fox led his 16U to a qualifying berth in 2011 16U Premier Girls Fastpitch (PGF) Nationals. They went undefeated in Huntington Beach and were the only San Diego team to qualify in the tournament. They too will enjoy staying local as Premier Nationals will be held in Huntington Beach.

Congratulations to the Tillett/Fox team for qualifying for Gold Nationals at the ASA Region 14 Qualifier in Hemet, California. The team went undefeated over the weekend and now can look forward to competing against the premier Gold teams in Oklahoma City in August.
Congratulations to the Tillett/Fox team as they went undefeated in the ASA Gold Classification tournament in Fontana. They are now classified as an 18U-Gold team and will look forward to competing in the summer Gold qualifiers.
With the 2008 college softball season wrapping up, it is a good opportunity to catch up with several former teammates and learn about their accomplishments:
Congratulations to Kellie Fox for being selected to the 2008 All American Under Armour Team. From 300,000 high school softball players nationwide, only 30 players were selected by a committee made up of the nation's most knowledgeable figures in high school softball. The players competed in the Inaugural Under ArmourĀ® Softball Game telecast on ESPNU. Way to go, Kellie!
Congratulations to teammates Megan Belio, Maggie Doremus, Kellie Fox, and Alix Johnson for being invited to participate in the Adidas Futures Top 100 College Exposure camp this month in St George, Utah.
